HOW TO IMPROVE THE BEST?
Take your time. You do not keep anything. And when clubs are finally better in all measurable aspects, they are called PXG. The PXG 0311 GEN2 irons are the result of PXG’s relentless effort to improve performance through innovations in materials, technology and complete customization. Each plate features a 8620 forged soft carbon steel body, innovative COR2 technology, a large functional internal surface, the industry’s thinnest clubface and PXG signature weighting technology. Each element is combined to offer a better interaction with the turf, more distance, precision and performance, all with an elegant appearance and a soft feeling like butter.
COR2 is a vibration damping material with properties C.O.R. (coefficient of restitution) explosive. The COR2 technology of PXG offers greater ball speed, greater distance, a more consistent response, greater precision and an excellent feeling on impact.
COR2 THICKNESS OF THE MATERIAL
The PXG 0311 GEN2 irons have a larger milling cavity, which allows more COR2 technology to be injected into the upper, middle and lower parts of the body. This improves sound, sensation, distance, precision and forgiveness.
LARGEST SWEET POINT
Without changing the optical size of the face, the internal perimeter cut design of the PXG face creates an internal functional area of the face by 15% greater. This produces a larger trampoline for the COR2 material to react, producing faster ball speeds and significantly improving the impact performance.
ANGLE OF THE SUBSEQUENT SURFACE
An angled posterior surface reduces the thickness of the club from the heel to the tip of the foot, while visually the top rail remains constant and parallel to the face. This geometry allows more mass to be positioned on the tip side of the clubhead for a higher MOI.
The milling process removes a significant amount of mass from the center of the stick. High density tungsten alloy weights, strategically placed around the perimeter of the clubhead, increase the MOI and help create optimal launch conditions.
THE MOST THINEST FACE IN THE WORLD
The PXG 0311 GEN2 irons have an ultra-thin face made of high-strength HT1770 martensitic steel that measures only 1.5 mm thick, about the thickness of a penny. Along with the COR2 technology, the power transfer is optimized for incredible launch speeds.
